This week we took a 3 day excursion to
Tegucigalpa to have a conference with Elder Ochoa. I think he is part of the
seventy that is over this area in Honduras. We had to take a bus to La
Esperanza and stay the night with the Hermanas there, then got up at 1 in the
morning to catch the 3
o'clock bus to Tegucigalpa.
Then after the conference catch another bus back to La Esperanza, stay the
night again, and then catch a bus in the morning back to Marcala. It was pretty
fun. Kind of like having 2 sleepovers back to back with my friends.... except
that they all only speak Spanish. But, really I enjoyed myself and learned a
lot.
In this conference Elder Ochoa
talked about the Faith and how we show our faith in Christ through our actions.
If we believe in Christ and the gospel, but we don't act on our beliefs we
really don't have that much faith after all. In the mission (and in life) we
all have this ideal person that we want to become, but if we don't make goals
to become that person we're never gonna get there. We'll just always have this
image to look at, but if we aren't taking the necessary actions and trying to
become better we're not going to improve. So basically my message here is set
goals with the help of our father in heaven and then act and work towards those
goals. It is only by setting goals and taking actions that we will see the
results.
Speaking of results... We had a
baptism yesterday! It was a young boy named Maickol and he is the only one in
his whole family that is baptized. He is so great and always comes to church
and always participates in all of the church activities and mission activities
we have. I was super excited for him. I definitely had a good and rewarding
week! I love you all tons!
Love,
Hermana Hansen
