So the other morning my companion informed me
that ata 2:30 in the morning she woke up and hear me
talking in my sleep... in Spanish! That's got to be a stepping stone, right?
Well maybe not, but I was happy to hear that even my subconcious is trying to
learn and speak this crazy language. I definitely feel that my Spanish has
improved tremendously in this past 3 weeks and that I will continue to improve
in these next 3 weeks I've got left with my companion.
The Elder's in our district had a
wedding and a baptism in the same day this week and it was quite the event.
Aparently they are their "golden investigators", but it was a little
bit weird seeing that he was 32ish and she was in her mid or late 60's.... but
the important part is that 2 more souls have found their way to the gate and we
have helped add to the kingdom of God. My other bit of exciting news is that
this week one of the members of the rama taught my companion and me how to make
Arroz con Leche (I think this is called Rice Pudding) and it was absolutely
delicious. Not something that I think I would have liked very much before my
mission, but now I think it is delicious!
This week went by so fast and
unfortunately I don't have much more to say. We've been having a bit of a slow
time, because we can't find many new investigators in this time. But everyday
we still get up, do our studies, and head out again to try and find those
chosen of God in this time. The mission isn't about how many investigators you
have or how many of them yoiu baptize, it's about finding people that you can
love with all your heart after knowing them for only a short period of time and
trying to help them find their way back to Christ. Once I realized this my
mission became so much easier and I had more of a desire to find and teach and
love the people here.
I love you all.
